After beating Chief Cawah in the Dude Raiding, you will recover the Mothership’s GPU. To collect the Mothership’s SSD in Astro Bot, you need to complete all main world levels in the Tentacle System. After beating Nidhog in the Bot of War world, you will recover the Mothership’s SSD.
Of the 300 bots you need to rescue, over half of them are dressed as characters from some of the most iconic games to grace PlayStation over the last 30 years. While a lot of them are based on first-party properties, like The Last of Us, Shadow of the Colossus, and Ape Escape, there are many more based on third-party titles — some of which are amazingly obscure. There are one or two surprising absentees, but on the whole it’s a remarkable selection that had us grinning with every character we recognised.
Five new levels with ten new Special Bots for you to rescue began rolling out October 17. Every review comes from a verified owner of this game or item and is evaluated by a team of moderators. In Rising Heat, you will traverse a bubbling hot lava-filled tower. With the help of your simian backpack buddy, you will climb, swing and fling yourself up to the summit. So stop monkeying around and beat those birds to the top to rescue your special bot friends. Test your skills in five additional speedrun levels available now, and collect new Special Bots.
Astro Bot Guides
It’s not all that different from other platformers out in the market right now, yet it’s able to stand out from the rest with its fun and unique gimmicks, amazing level design, and amount of content. When comparing the game to something like Super Mario Odyssey, you could even say that Astro Bot may have taken a lot of inspiration from the Nintendo exclusive. However, the way it presents itself and the way it integrates its older titles into the game make it a unique experience. That overall format is deceptively simple for one of the most creative games I’ve ever played in my entire life — and Astro Bot makes that abundantly clear in just a handful of hours. There are more than 80 levels in Astro Bot, and what’s remarkable to me is that I can’t think of a single one that felt too similar to another or was a disappointment in any way.
Naturally, you’ll find Ratchet and Clank, Kratos, and Nathan Drake here; third-party heroes with a PlayStation connection, like Metal Gear Solid’s Snake and Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter, are also represented. Whether for licensing reasons or just to make a fun guessing game, the bots are given coy names like Dad of Boy (Kratos), Spinning Marsupial (Crash Bandicoot), and Immune Survivor (The Last of Us’ Ellie). There are some deep cuts that will have all but the most encyclopedic of PlayStation fans scratching their heads.

This means that after the thrill of the game’s nostalgic moments wears off, there is not much reason to play after its 15 hours are up. These occasionally repetitive enemies are also an important part of Astro Bot’s difficulty. The main levels are never too tough – the real challenge is finding all the bots and collectibles – but there are special secret levels that test your skill. These have no checkpoints, so they’re not for the faint of heart. Yet they never fall into the trap so many platformers do of cranking the difficulty up way beyond reasonable levels and changing the game’s essence. Astro Bot can be punishingly difficult, especially the final gauntlet once you have every collectible in hand, but it never feels unfair.
Astro Bot is set to launch on September 6 and will be available in standard, digital, and deluxe versions. Preorders for Astro Bot’s physical standard edition are live now, and digital preorders will be available on June 7. The physical edition comes with a cool poster, and all editions include early unlocks for in-game content. There’s also the fact that the vast proportion of the Sony-owned characters haven’t been in a game for a decade or more, so it seems a bit disingenuous pretending to celebrate them now.
Irritate some ground-bound enemies into following you, then hop into or behind the square enclosure (yes, there’s enough space for you to stand between the wire and the rock). This should lure additional enemies into the wire, getting you the trophy. To collect the Mothership’s GPU in Astro Bot, you need to complete all main world levels in the Serpent Starway.
Many platformers have done a lot over the years in abilities/level design/marketing not reaching people, more dialogue/combat/other crap & level design/movesets taking a hit. @Bluetrain7 Nearly every level has at least one Bot to rescue, including the challenge levels and secret levels. In order to get the Platinum, you need to rescue every Bot and get every Puzzle Piece. @rjejr I personally wouldn’t describe any of it as gimmicky; if I could compare it to anything, think of Super Mario Galaxy. Mario gets various power-ups throughout the game and often they only feature a couple of times — it’s like that.

As you’d expect from a 3D platformer, Astro Bot contains hundreds of collectibles for you to find. In this part of our Astro Bot guide, we have checklists for where to find every collectible in the game, including all Bots, Puzzle Pieces, Lost Galaxy Warp Portals, and more in your quest for 100%. To put that in another way, for many people, video games become a community hub, a place of belonging and socializing that they may not have outside of their computer or console. There are a few things we need to cover to understand the online reaction to Astro Bot.
Astro Bot proves that creativity, fun and well applied technology is what the industry needs right now (and well, we can’t deny the touch of nostalgia or the amazing use of licenses). PlayStation can clean up the sour taste of last year, and perhaps show them that there are other paths to greatness. The Stranded Scout, Nightmare Guardian, Greedy Ape, and Pro Driver Cameo Bots will only be available at the Crash Site once players have unlocked them in Astro’s Playroom. https://mb66.golf/ following guide includes the identities of every Astro Bot cameo character, as well as information about the stage or area in which they’ll need to be unlocked. Players can also watch the video at the top of the page to see their animations and Gatcha Lab items. Yeah, and of course every game is different – different art styles, different engines, different visual goals, etc.
